Key West, the southernmost city in the continental United States, is a tropical blend of beautiful waters, exotic foliage, wonderful restaurants and lodging facilities and history-enriched attractions and activities. Visitors immediately enjoy the Caribbean feel of this island nation called the Conch Republic.
Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. Today with more than 46,000 clubs in 192 countries and geographical areas, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever-increasing needs of our global community.
Our tropical forest and garden is the only "frost-free" one of its kind in the continental United States. A "frost-free" environment and ample rain allows most trees to retain their leaves in the dry season (Dec. through late May). It is home to many endangered and threatened species of both flora and fauna. Tropical forests hold at least half of all the variety of life on Earth. Moreover, the species found with the Caribbean are among the richest in plan and animal life on the planet.
