Trash stations to accept hurricane debris from unincorporated Monroe through Jan. 31

Full Description:

From today through Tuesday, Jan. 31, hurricane debris will be accepted free of charge from the citizens of unincorporated Monroe County at the county’s three transfer stations. Each load will be inspected to confirm that it is hurricane debris. A certification form must be completed by the homeowner declaring the source and type of the debris. The homeowner must provide identification and proof of in unincorporated Monroe County. Loads brought in by commercial vehicles will be accepted only with the presence of the homeowner to complete the necessary certification and identification. This program does not apply to those in the cities of Key West, Marathon, Layton, or the Village of Islamorada; these areas are responsible for their own hurricane debris removal.
